Traveller of the Month: Brianna from Brianna Marie Lifestyle
Welcome to Traveller of the Month! Each month I’m featuring a fellow world traveller to share their travel stories, inspire a little wanderlust and show some love to a fellow blogger!
Without further ado, meet March’s Traveller of the Month, Brianna!
And if you missed last month’s, check it out here!
Who are you, where are you from and where are you now?
My name is Brianna and I run the blog Brianna Marie Lifestyle. I’m from Prince Edward Island, Canada but am currently in Alberta, Canada.

What’s your travel story? How did you get into travel and what kind of travel are you doing now (or were you doing pre-pandemic)?
I’ve always been interested in travel when I was young but didn’t get the opportunity to travel much until I was an adult. Just before the pandemic started, I took a trip to Mexico and stayed at the Grand Sunset Princess Resort in Playa Del Carmen.
When did you start your blog and what sort of stories do you share there?
I started my blog back in late 2017 so I’ve done a lot since then. I love to share my travel experiences along with reviews and travel guides to teach you about these places and inform you of what you can do if you travel there.
What do you do when you’re not travelling or writing about travel?
I do post other topics on my blog as well so that’s something that takes up a lot of my time as well as other social media channels. On weekends, I also love to check out some coffee shops near where I live with friends.
What’s your best travel memory from the last five years?
The best travel memory I have from the last five years was my trip to Mexico in December 2019 before the pandemic. We arrived at the resort and took a little walk around to see it. Then we returned to our private swim out suite and my then boyfriend proposed to me! I was completely shocked and so happy. It’s something we will never forget.

What is still on your travel bucket list? What have you recently checked off?
I’ve recently ticked Mexico off of my bucket list but will still continue to go back because I loved it so much. I still have so many places left on my bucket list though. Some of the top locations on my list are Greece, Italy, Bali, Thailand, and the Maldives. I’m thinking one of these will be ticked off my bucket list in the next couple years when we go on our honeymoon.
What’s something you do, pack or eat on every trip?
I always bring either a book or my kindle with me on every trip I take. I love to read on planes and if I’m anywhere with a pool or beach, I love to read there as well. I’ve gotten into reading a lot more which was one of my goals this year. I also do feature some book reviews on my blog if you’re interested in what I’ve been reading.
What destination is calling your name in 2021?
Prince Edward Island, Canada is calling my name in 2021. It’s where I grew up and where most of my family is. I haven’t been there since August 2019 so I’m eager to get back there.

What is the best accommodation you’ve ever stayed in? What’s the worst?
The best accommodation I’ve every stayed in was the private swim out suite at the Grand Sunset Princess resort in Mexico.
The worst was a hotel I stayed at in Paris on a trip with my school. We went into our room to see that there was a double bed and 2 single beds. Turns out those single beds used to be a bunk bed. Some people we were with actually got on their bunk bed and it broke immediately. They were given another room and the toilet didn’t work in that one so they had to use both rooms for all their needs. This was also a very dirty hotel and the light flickered on like it would in a horror movie so I won’t be going back there.

If you could live abroad, where would you live?
I would love to live in Italy. There are so many places in Italy I want to see and living there would make it so much easier to see all the wonderful places.
How do you keep your wanderlust up when you’re stuck at home?
I like to follow lots of travel bloggers and Instagram accounts to see travel on my phone all the time. I also like to look up places to go and things to do there and add them to my bucket list.
Where would you recommend someone go on their first trip out of your home country?
I live in Canada and I would suggest going to Europe. The culture, buildings, and surrounds in Europe are so different and it’s something you should see in your life.
What is the best weekend trip you’ve been on?
I live only a 4 hour drive away from Banff and Jasper so I’ve had so many weekend trips to these places and I love them. There’s so much to see in the mountains and I will go back any chance I get.

Which other travellers or bloggers inspire you?
One of my favourite bloggers is Shelbi. She runs the Bucket List Bums blog and Instagram account. She’s been to so many amazing places and I get so many new ideas for places to visit when I look at her page.
