This was me a few months ago when we got back from Thailand! I’m already planning our 2019 international vacay! Great post and I love your blog!

    1. Thanks so much – I really appreciate that! We’re heading to Thailand in the new year and I’m sure I’ll be feeling the post travel blues hard when we get home.

  2. Great tips, Riana. The post-travel blues suck, but they’re all part of the process. I’m a massive fan of postcards and adore the idea of sending one to myself. Will certainly be giving that a go.

    1. Thanks so much, Emma! Yes, agree that it’s all part of the process. And would never trade the going just to not have the blues. I hope the postcard idea works for you!

  3. What a great post! Those post travel blues don’t hit me right at first, but so within a day or so after getting back home. It’s nice to get back home, but miss the places we had visited!

    1. Thanks for reading, Clair! Yeah, sometimes they do take a second to set in. But just means we had a great trip if we have something to miss!

Thanks for the tips. I always get a case of the post trip blues when we come home. You are right, I always look forward to taking a shower in my own shower when I get home. I also look forward to seeing my kitties.

    1. Thanks so much for reading! Haha, yes there’s something so nice about coming back to your own shower with all of your own stuff. Clearly we’re not staying at luxury hotels if we miss our home showers! And I’m sure your kitties look forward to seeing you too!

  5. Great article ! I never know what to buy as souvenirs except magnets for fridge or keyholders… They are not the most useful ones but it is still a little something that recalls the special place you’ve been. And I’ve been dreaming of making a scrapbook for years now, but I still dont know where or how to start… I’ll have to make it someday 😀

    1. Thanks for reading, Celine! Yes, souvenirs can be tricky. The stores always make it look so appealing but then you get home and realize it’s mostly junk 🙂 Definitely do your scrapbook – it’s so fun! You can buy a book, paper and stickers/etc on Amazon or at the dollar store.

  6. Preach it, girlfriend! Those blues can hit hard. I love your tips about making a scrapbook (my therapy is usually a Shutterfly photo book :)) and M and I always try to find a Christmas ornament when we travel so that we’re reminded of our fond travel memories every year when we decorate our tree!

    1. Thanks, Gwen! Yes, photo books are so fun! I made one for my dad for Christmas and it was so much fun putting it together.
