That’s an incredible leap to spend a year in Prague. I’d love for us to do this too. You had so many great experiences and created so many more by working out details as they popped up. Enjoyed reading about your experience!

Prague is such a great city! It must have been great to spend almost a year there. I know the feeling of not seeing the places you want to see before you leave. But I love the attitude of being happy about the opportunities you said yes!

    1. We really were so lucky to have that time in Prague!

Still so crazy to think y’all just had to make a split second decision to stay or come back. Glad y’all are safe and seems like it all worked out!

Hoping we can do a year abroad like that one say soon!

    1. Thanks, Gus! I hope you get to too!

  5. I can only image how difficult this decision would have been for you. The unforeseen pandemic cutting your dreams of living abroad short would be devastating, especially not knowing how severe the pandemic actually turned out to be. It would just be so disappointing, bittersweet, but then thankful that you are home and safe, with still lots of wonderful memories to cherish.

    1. Aw thank you for your kind words, Renee. You’ve really summed it up!

It sounds like it was quite the adventure, even if you didn’t get to do everything you wanted to and it being cut short.

  7. What an incredible experience, and such a bittersweet end but glad you made it back to Canada safe and I’m sure perspective now makes you see some of the difficult decisions a little differently. No one knew how this was going to play out and I think I would have been like you, a bit more inclined to hold onto that dream a little longer, but it sounds like things are working out here and hopefully we’ll continue to open up and get better here too

  8. I’ve been binge watching HH International and came across your episode and I thought I would see if your blog was still active. I’m so glad it is! I’ve been living vicariously through travel shows during the whole pandemic, wishing I had started traveling before I literally couldn’t. I am definitely more motivated and optimistic thanks to your blog. Take care!

    1. Aw thank you for looking up my blog! I really appreciate it! I have also been binging a lot of travel shows over the last year. Hopefully we can all get back out there safely soon!
