Omg, the pictures are amazing!!! 2 weeks ago we visited Milan and Bergamo, but about Milan we were dissapointed.. Its overrated and after our trip we said to each other – the next time when we will visit Italy, we will visit Rome! And you just made me want it EVEN MORE! Great post!!

    1. Thanks so much! I hope you get to Rome soon. I felt the same way about Milan; it was a bit disappointing. I’m sure your next trip to Italy will be amazing!

  3. Well you have me sold on eating at Goose, looks and sounds delicious 😋
Awesome 2 day itinerary! I love history and think I would need to spend quite a long time in Rome to feel like I had the full experience haha.

    1. Thanks! Yes, would definitely recommend a few more days to get the full experience.

Don’t you just love Roma! Two days isn’t a lot of time, but thankfully all the sites, Vatican excluded, are in close proximity to each other. Beyond seeing the sites, I just loved sitting and eating.

    1. Yes, definitely agree you would want more than two days if you had it. So nice to just sit and enjoy!

This trip looked amazing! Definitely seems like 2 days isnt enough but I would be in a food coma from all that food and gelato!

    1. Thanks, Gus! Yes, more time to enjoy all the food would be best 🙂

  6. I would really like to explore Rome again. I had 3 days there and it still felt like we rushed around. We did all the major sites, although I like the idea of the guided tour at the colosseum. I wish I’d done that. I loved the food, would go back to Italy for the food alone. Taking on some of your tips for when I inevitably return

    1. Yes, agreed. Two days isn’t enough to get more than a taste. Hope we can both return soon!

Please count me as your newest fan! We have been fortunate to have visited Rome twice–2011 and 2017. And Mid November 2022 :)) You have done an admirable job of covering the highlights for a two/three day trip to Rome. As you know, a few days in Rome is amazing but not enough! My short list: Vatican City with St Peter’s Basilica mindblowing. The Pantheon. The Colosseum. Piazza Navona. Campo de’ Fiori. Gelato. Gelato. Trevi Fountain. Spanish Steps. Of course there is so much more. Thank you.

    1. Aw thank you so much, Howard! Great list for Rome. And agreed, you could easily spend a few weeks in Rome and still have lots left to discover.

  8. This itinerary is amazing! I can’t believe how much you packed into just two days. The suggestions for must-see sights and local eateries are super helpful. I’m definitely saving this for my upcoming trip to Rome! Thank you for sharing!
